　　千年之前的古代中国，只有一位身为铁匠儿子的剑侠（托米·艾昂 Tommi Eronen饰）可以杀死祸害世人的恶魔（成泰燊 Taishen Cheng饰）。他在杀死恶魔后便可以得到永生。在与恶魔决斗前，剑侠爱上了一位美丽的女子（张静初饰）。剑侠为爱对抗自己的命运，放弃了杀死恶魔的机会，希望能够重生和他深爱的人再次重逢。千年之后的现代芬兰，剑侠终于实现了他的愿望。然而当得知自己千年之前的使命后，他有该何去何从。
　首部中芬合拍史诗爱情电影《玉战士》，改编自极富神话色彩和抒情意味的芬兰民族史诗《卡勒瓦拉》。影片分别在芬兰、爱沙尼亚和中国浙江横店影视基地进行拍摄。如史诗般壮阔的中国古代场景配合冷峻的现代芬兰，使得芬兰异域的神秘美感和中国古城的悠然质感发挥得淋漓尽致。而本片的动作场面更是为情感故事设定了节奏，千年之恋壮美上演。
